| Description: Completed during a period of travel in Japan, and an extended stay in Kyoto, this group of color study paintings reflects an influence of Zen painting and calligraphy, while still maintaining the exploratory nature of my work. The approach was similar to that of the composition of a haiku : all at once, brief, reflective of nature, and of place. |
